Welcome to Gino Geraci!

Gino is coming to DenverDocHouse in half an hour. I'm excited to see him again. He has been so good to CMDA for the past several years and we look forward to a great evening.

Pastor opening prayer in Kansas Senate

This is a great story, one of those things you really want to be true when it comes across your email but you suspect is a hoax. (I have found that the stories I most want to be true are the ones most likely to be hoaxes, unfortunately.) This pastor actually said what he thinks. Wonder if he ever got invited back?

By the way, the Snopes website is a great way to find out if that lucious email is true or not before you forward it to hundreds of people on you email list.

Oh, and speaking of news stories, I loved this one. Mark Brewer was a pastor in Denver at Colorado Community (before that at Cherry Creek Presbyterian.) He is forthright and honest about his evangelical beliefs. Take a look at his comment about some proposals to water down the Trinity...

Another Tattered Cover speaker, Dr. Abrams

Fredrick Abrams wrote Doctors on the Edge, Will Your Doctor Break the Rules for You. He will be at Tattered Cover September 28th. Might be interesting; he is a bioethicist, has worked at Rose.

Thanks, DenverDocWife, for being my eyes on the world and finding these two links.

Philip Yancey coming to Denver

Tattered Cover has Philip Yancey coming in to discuss his new book, Prayer: Does it Make a Difference? Sept. 11th. Consider it!
